Prep + After Care
A great spray tan is a team effort. It's both you and I doing our best to produce
the most beautiful custom spray tan for you and your skin tone.
I'll do my part once you get to the salon.
Here's what you can do to make sure your tan is as perfect as possible!

Hydrate
The more hydrated your skin is, the better and longer your spray tan can last!
Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and using lotion consistently leading up to your spray tan appointment.

24-48 Hours Prior To Spray Tan Appointment
Make sure all mani/pedi and waxing is done at least 24-48 hours prior to your spray tan appointment.
If you get these done right before, the products used on your skin can create a barrier that blocks the spray tan solution from absorbing into the top layer of your skin, or you could be too exfoliated from your wax.
If you get them done after, waxing can exfoliate your spray tan off your skin, and a mani/pedi could wash off your spray tan.
All resulting in an unpredictable, streaky, or uneven tan.
Please make sure these appointments are done 24-48 hours BEFORE your spray tan!

8-24 Hours Prior To Spray Tan Appointment
This is your ideal prep time.
If you currently have a spray tan or self tanner on, be sure to exfoliate to completely remove it, (if any is left on, it can block your new spray tan from properly developing).
Shower in this order:
1. Wash and Condition Hair
2. Shave
3. Exfoliate (body, armpits, face, literally everywhere)
4. Rub dry with your towel
Exfoliate using one or more of the following:
(I have my favorites listed under the "Shop" tab)
Dry Brush
Exfoliating Mitt
Exfoliating Scrub
PRODUCTS TO AVOID PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT
(not spray tan safe)
Tree Hut
Dove Body Wash
Dial Body Wash
Olay Body Wash
Bath and Body Works Body Wash
Victoria Secret Body Wash
Aluminum Deodorant

Morning Of Your Spray Tan Appointment
Here's what to do before you get to your Spray Tan Appointment.
Do NOT workout the day of your tan
You'll have to shower off your sweat, and you don't want to shower within 8 hours of your spray tan appointment. When you shower, your pores open and water is absorbed. By refraining from showering within 8 hours before your spray tan, you can help the tan gain it's full depth of color and last longer.
NO:
Lotions, oils, deodorant, perfume, body spray, makeup.
Your skin should be free from all product.

After Care
When you receive your rinse time, make sure you rinse at that time with water only!
Waiting longer or rinsing too soon can give you unpredictable and undesired results.
Before Your Rinse Time, Do NOT:
Get your tan wet
Sweat
Touch your tan
When Rinsing Your Tan:
This is a WATER ONLY RINSE! (No soap, shaving, face wash, or hair washing)
Rinse using lukewarm water.
Use your hands to physically and thoroughly rub your skin to remove the bronzers until the water runs clear.
Pat dry when getting out of the shower.
After Rinsing:
Lotion, lotion, lotion!
Hydrate like crazy. Drink water and keep it up!
After your first rinse, you are good to wear makeup and deodorant.
Be mindful of perfume, body spray, lotion with a high alcohol content, the alcohol can strip away your tan.
